We are in for another busy week at Graham…

PTA Meeting:
Please plan on attending our first PTA Meeting with Welcome Coffee on Wednesday, September 11th at 9:30 am. We are excited to welcome Michael Anders, School Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for District 204, as a guest speaker that day. He will give us an update on safety and security measures in the district and will be answering questions. And if you need more incentive, refreshments will be provided!

Yogurt Beach:
Mark your calendar, our first restaurant night will be Wednesday, September 11th at Yogurt Beach. Please treat your family to frozen yogurt and support Graham at the same time.

We are happy to be able to offer new Graham spirit wear options this year! Use the link below for pictures and pricing. Please see link to place your online order before 9/13. Deliveries will be here the second week of October.

Falcon FUNdraiser:
Remember to send in your money for the Falcon Fundraiser and be entered to win many fantastic weekly raffle prizes (and even an IPad for donations of $100 or more!) The fundraiser will culminate on 9/27 (rain date 9/30) with students participating in fun and games outdoors on the Graham school grounds, and if we meet our school wide goal of $7500, the students will get a special surprise!

Remind App:
Recently a letter went home about the Remind app. This is a new form of communication for important information for your Graham student and it can be downloaded onto your mobile device! If you have misplaced your letter or need additional assistance, please email Kristin Kirchner at

Watch D.O.G.S. Informational Meeting:
All dads are welcome to attend the Watch D.O.G.S. Informational Meeting and enjoy some pizza on September 19th at 6:30 pm in the Graham MPR. Come find out more about a wonderful way to experience a day in the life of Graham. This is for dad’s only. (No children)

Indian Prairie Special Needs PTA:
The Indian Prairie Special Needs PTA has set the dates for their meetings this school year. All meetings are held at 7pm in room B6 at Crouse Education Center at 780 Shoreline Drive. The meeting dates are: September 26th, November 6th, January 16th, and April 8th. Please contact our Special Needs PTA Rep, Mandy Traynor at with any questions.

Indian Prairie Project Arrow PTA:
Indian Prairie Project Arrow PTA has set the dates for their meetings this school year. All meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in room B7 at Crouse Education Center at 780 Shoreline Drive. The meeting dates are: October 3, November 14, January 30 and April 9. Please contact our liaison Kelly Moscickis at with any questions. If you have not done so already, please email Kelly your child’s name and grade to be included in PA PTA updates.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Looking to help in your child’s class? Here are three great ways to get involved:

1. Classroom parent: ONLY 4 SPOTS LEFT: We need one parent to step up in each of the following classes: KM, 1C, 2G, 4V. If your class is not listed, all spots have been filled. If you are interested in helping work on your grade level team plans and option to attend all seasonal parties for your child’s class, please consider signing up as room parent. Party helper spots will be limited this year with our small school size and we don’t want anyone left out. Training meeting with ideas will be provided and you will work on a team of 4 parents to plan the celebrations. Parties will be held on 10/31, 12/22, and 2/14. 2. Junior Achievement: Parents of KM and 5M - we need your help! We do not have any volunteers for your class. We only have one spot left in 1C, 2K, 2G, 4V, 4G, and 5T. All materials, supplies, and weekly script/instructions provided to help teach grade specific financial literacy and global economics. A great way to interact with the students and support your classroom. Teachers choose the time of year for the program. You will pick the time and day you come in by arranging it with your teacher. This can be shared with another parent and is a 30-45 minutes once a week, for 5-6 weeks role. Sign up here today:

3. Art Awareness: The Art Awareness program is a great way to spend time in your child’s classroom once a month helping to create a long lasting appreciation for the arts. Each grade has a predetermined work of art, guided questions/ information to present and suggestions of activities, crafts, games or projects to extend the experience. This program operates best when we are able to get 4 or more parents per classroom. The timing and scheduling of your participation is highly flexible, but a volunteer will typically spend 30 minutes in the classroom during a volunteer session and you can determine how many times you during the year you would like to volunteer with a maximum of 8 times. We currently have none or only one volunteer in the following classrooms: KM— 1W— 3W— 4V— 5T. All other classrooms would love more volunteers too.
