Dear Graham Families,

What a great Naperville ½ Marathon and 5K Race! We are so appreciative of all the Graham School support that enabled us to do our part to help the District raise a record-breaking fundraising amount of over $204,000! We were one of eleven District 204 schools that came out on race morning to support not only the runners from Graham and the other Team IPEF members, but all the nearly 4,000 participants in Sunday’s race. I am very excited to share the news that the Graham Spirit Squad won a monetary prize for the 4th year in a row for our incredible cheering and school spirit! We placed 2nd out of the schools who participated! I am very proud of the Graham Team who walked or ran in the race, and thankful to every person who joined us on Sunday morning and helped us win $750.00. We also won the ‘Yellow out’ Districtwide contest to show our support of Team IPEF! We are small, but mighty and what we can do never ceases to amaze me.

Veteran’s Celebration

Each year, Graham School acknowledges and celebrates our brave service men and women during a Veteran’s Day assembly. This year the assembly will be November 11th at 9:30AM. We are asking everyone who would like to participate to send in a picture of a family member in uniform who has served or is serving in the military. We will include the picture in a display in the front hallway titled “Wall of Heroes”. A form is coming home with the necessary information for participating in this special event.



Information regarding Parent -Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are in November. Directions for using PowerPTC, an online service that allows parents at all grade levels to easily schedule parent-teacher conferences. In order to use the service, you will use your Home Access Center (HAC) login and password. When you login to the Home Access Center you will find a link to PowerPTC where you will enter this information. Attached to this newsletter is a screenshot detailing the location in HAC. Once your account is set up, you will be able to schedule your conferences during the following times: Scheduling opens: Friday, November 1st at 10 am, Scheduling closes: Tuesday, November 19th at 8 am. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on the following dates: November 21st (Thursday) 4:30pm-8:00pm, November 25th (Monday) 8:00am-8:00pm.

Need to Know

Report cards are available after 4PM today, October 25th. Attendance records are always available on the Home Access Center. Conferences will be held on November 21, 4:30 – 8PM and November 25, 8 – 8PM.

Fall Celebration

On Thursday, October 31st, we will be having a Fall Harvest Celebration. From 2:15 – 3:15 PM, the students will participate in a classroom celebration, which will include a craft and/or a game. There will be a Costume Parade for the students.



As we want to ensure the safety of all students during this celebration and maintain an environment conducive to learning the day of the celebration, we are asking that students follow the rules below:



Students are not to wear costumes to school at the beginning of the day (including make-up and hair dye)— time will be provided by teachers for students to change into their costume. Costumes MUST be able to be put on in the classroom setting and your child should need minimal assistance to put it on.
Parents should assist their child/ren in making appropriate decisions about what students wear for costumes, ensuring that costumes are school appropriate and meet all of the District 204 Dress Code Guidelines.
Please keep play weapons and masks at home. Sharp objects (i.e. wooden swords) may NOT be part of any costume. We want to ensure all students’ safety.
Volunteers helping with room parties will be able to come into the building at 1:45 and must be on the list of volunteers for the Harvest Party. Please plan on entering the building at Door #2 and checking in at the volunteer table to receive your pre-printed ID badge. If you have not had the opportunity to have your Driver’s License scanned by the Raptor System, please plan on coming in during the next few weeks, so that we can run your ID through the system.


Students not attending room parties and events because of religious beliefs or family choice will be provided an alternate activity at school. Please contact your child’s teacher if your child is not participating in the classroom celebration.

Reminders for Assignment Notebooks

If you are in grades 3rd ,4th, and 5th please remember to pay for your student’s Assignment Notebook. The cost is $3.50 per notebook. If you have a fourth grade student, please send in payment for the Scholastic News. This is something the students use weekly. The cost is $6.50. Thank you to those who have already paid.



Reminders and Requests:

When calling in your child’s attendance or late arrival, please call the 24 hour absent line 630-428-6900, option 3.
Please remember to include your child’s name and classroom teacher on a sticky note, when dropping off a forgotten item or bringing in lunch.
There are already items in the Lost and Found collection that are looking for ‘home’. If your child is missing an item, please feel free to come and look through the items.
