Cultural Night Info and Sign Up

Reported by on 1/16/20

Calling Graham Families: We are hosting a celebration to honor YOUR family heritage, but we need your involvement to make this possible!

We plan to hold a Cultural Night at Graham Elementary on April 15th, from 6:00-8:00. We would like to invite you to showcase what makes your family uniquely special as we celebrate different parts of the world. Students will be welcome to create passports and travel "around the world" learning from the moms and dads of our school community!

Families are encouraged to sign up and create a booth that shares information about a country you would like to highlight. This does not need to be where your family is from, necessarily, it can also be a place you studied, traveled to, or would like to research and display. While we hope that each booth will be unique and encourage family creativity, the PTA will provide a trifold board and suggests the following as guiding topics to include:

Flag - Map - Examples of Traditional Clothing - Fun Facts - History of Nation - Language - Wildlife - Famous Inventions/Inventors - Climate
- Sports Figures (Olympians) - Famous People - National Landmarks - Counting to 10
Food is also encouraged!
Parents are welcome to provide recipes and food significant to their culture during the evening. A list of ingredients must be available and displayed.

If you would like to be a part of this unique opportunity, please follow the link below to sign up! Please note that the link includes the countries from data collected from the
beginning of the school year, and also provides a slot to fill in OTHER country. The sign up is
alphabetized and may include multiple pages.

The planning committee will be meeting at
Graham on January 31st at 2:00
if you are interested in finding out more!
We are also actively booking cultural demonstrations for that evening, and welcome recommendations or contacts! If you cannot make the meeting or have any questions,
please email us below.

We hope Graham families take advantage of this opportunity, and look forward to sharing and learning from each other!
Thank you for your support!
