Hello all!


Here is some information on upcoming activities and events at Graham:


Falcon Fundraiser:

Today we are kicking off our main fundraising event of the school year and this year the theme is “It’s Great To Be At Graham” as we are celebrating Graham’s 25th Anniversary. Today each child will receive a 25th Anniversary pencil as well as a letter explaining all the details of the fundraiser. ALL funds raised this year will go towards special events and activities planned by the PTA throughout THIS school year. We have many great prizes for our weekly raffle for those who donated $25 or more and 3 Grand Prizes for those who donated $100 or more. The fundraiser will culminate on 9/17 (rain date 9/20) with students participating in fun and games outdoors on the Graham school grounds, and if we meet our school wide goal of $6500, the students will get a special surprise!

Graham PTA Membership:


The PTA has traditionally raised funds to support everything from the outdoor classroom and playground equipment to teacher grants, materials for the LMC, and flexible seating for classrooms. This year will be Graham’s 25th Anniversary and we are hoping to bring back some activities that were missed last year as well as bringing out some new activities. Please consider joining again this year to stay informed, gain access to the Graham Directory and help support our students. The membership form is attached to this email. Please fill that out and send it back to school with your student. Dues can be paid online or via check. They are $21 per family if you choose to pay online or $20 by check.

We are happy to be able to offer new Graham spirit wear options this year! Also, just like last year all ordering will be made online. First Restaurant Night Yogurt Beach:

Mark your calendar, our first restaurant night will be this Thursday, September 2nd from 2-9 pm at Yogurt Beach. Please treat your family to frozen yogurt and support Graham at the same time. Mention Graham or show the flyer on your phone. We have attached the flyer to the bottom of this newsletter.



Billy Bricks Pizza Food Truck will be at the River Run parking lot on September Wednesday September 22nd from 4:30-7:30. Bring a blanket and have a picnic with friends and play on the River Run playground. If you are busy that day you are also able to order in advance and grab your food to go. PTA Meeting:

Please plan on attending our first PTA Meeting via zoom on Wednesday, September 15th at 9:30 am.



Volunteer Opportunities:

Looking to help in your child’s class? Here are three great ways to get involved:



1. Classroom parent: ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT: We need one parent to step up in each of the following classes: 1W, 1C, 2K, 3K, 4E, and 5T. If your class is not listed, all spots have been filled. If you are interested in helping work on your grade level team plans and option to attend all seasonal parties for your child’s class, please consider signing up as room parent. Party helper spots will be limited this year with our small school size and current restrictions. Training meeting with ideas will be provided and you will work on a team of 4 parents (2 per each class) to plan the celebrations. Parties will be held on 10/29, 12/17, and 2/11, with the possibility of an end of the year party. (Currently no volunteers are allowed to interact with the students, for the first Harvest party on 10/29 the room parents will come up with the party events/crafts and turn it over to the teachers to run. 2. Library Volunteer: The LMC recruits and trains parents to assist in the LMC. Volunteers enable us to provide a full range of services to our students. Our library media center is in need of your support. Even if you can spare just two hours per week, or every two weeks, you can help us provide a stronger library program for your children. Volunteering in the library media center (LMC) will also allow you to learn more about your child's school experience and give you an opportunity to observe classes in action. Here are just a few of the valuable jobs our volunteer do, and no experience is required to volunteer in the LMC!

Shelve books

Assist children in finding books

Database entry

Take home projects

Preparing displays/bulletin boards

Help with book fair twice a year

Special projects in LMC

3. Art Awareness: The Art Awareness program is a PTA funded program that runs year long in the school. It is a great way to spend time in your child’s classroom helping to create a long lasting appreciation for the arts. Do you think you’re not artistic? No worries, you’ll still have so much fun! Each grade has a predetermined work of art, guided questions/ information to present and suggestions of activities, crafts, games or projects to extend the experience. This program operates best when we are able to get 4 or more parents per classroom. The timing and scheduling of your participation is highly flexible, but a volunteer will typically spend 30 minutes in the classroom during a volunteer session and you can determine how many times during the year you would like to volunteer, with a maximum of 8 times. You will be required to wear a mask when in the school building. An orientation session will occur over Zoom in late September. We currently have none or only one volunteer in the following classrooms: KMC— 2K— 3W— 3K, 4G— 5T, & 5V. All other classrooms would love more volunteers too.
