Graham’s Winter Reading Incentive Program
When: Beginning in January and Ending in March
What: An eight week program divided into four two-week segments, with each segment representing a base of a baseball diamond. When a student completes a segment they will advance to the next base. The goal is to “hit a home run”.
How: Students and theit families select a reading goal for themselves.
Each student keeps track of their goal. When the students “hit a home run” they will receive a ticket order form for a free ticket to a Kane County Cougar baseball game. The student also receives a concession voucher for a hot dog or soft pretzel and soft drink at the game. On our game date, they will be honored during an on-field parade, and also receive their reward for reading.
This year we are very excited to have the Graham School chorus singing the National Anthem at the beginning of the game. It is always a fun Graham family night at the ball park.
Graham’s game date for this year will be Thursday, May 19th at 6:30 pm.

Are you looking for a fun way to honor your child’s birthday? Well, Graham’s LMC has the answer! Donating a book to Graham’s LMC helps to build our library collection and make your child feel special at the same time.
We have a birthday book cart in the LMC office. At the beginning of the month of your child’s birthday (or half birthday if a summer birthday), we will invite your child to choose a book from the birthday book cart.
When your child chooses a book, he/she receives a birthday book button. We take his/her picture to put in the front of the book with a book plate commemorating the donation and date of birthday.
After your child chooses the book, we will send you a note telling you what book your child chose and how much the book costs. No book will cost more than $20.00.
Last year, we increased our collection by almost 150 books through our birthday book club.
If you are interested in participating, please call the LMC office at 428-6908. We will send a birthday book form home with your child.
Thank you for considering this program. It is a great way for your child to feel special and to support the school at the same time.
